Michigan Association for Play Therapy

Michigan Association for Play Therapy is a nonprofit professional organization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, dedicated to advancing the field of play therapy. We empower play therapy professionals with the tools, training, and community needed to make a lasting impact on children’s lives. MIAPT serves mental health providers, families, and the wider community by promoting the principles and practice of play therapy and enhancing professional development. We are the Michigan State Branch of the Association for Play Therapy (APT), fostering a supportive network for growth and collaboration.

Our mission is to educate, support, and advocate for play therapy, ensuring access to evidence-based practices for children and adolescents. We achieve this through regular networking events, professional development opportunities, and our annual conference.

MIAPT offers resources and support for both seasoned clinicians and those new to the field, fostering a vibrant community committed to the power of play in therapeutic practice.
