As a Black-owned media organization, New Jersey Urban News is committed to closing the information gap and strengthening civic engagement through a digital-first approach, including our website, email newsletters, podcasts, and social media presence.

Our business model relies on paid advertising, sponsorships, and grant funding, allowing us to maintain our independence and continue amplifying vital voices within New Jersey. We’ve grown from a solo operation to a team of nine dedicated professionals, all united by a mission to ensure local news is representative, accessible, and equitable.
