In 1842, a visionary French priest immigrated to the United States, finding his place in the world and opening the doors of his young university to it. His destination then, like the hundreds of thousands that have followed his lead—including nearly 37,000 international students—was South Bend, Indiana. It is where we begin our journey, today.
