Ocean Ecology Ltd is a Gloucester-based marine environmental consultancy specializing in providing survey, technical, data and advisory services to organizations delivering and governing the global blue economy.

We have specific expertise in assessing and monitoring marine ecological communities, protected habitats, fisheries and cetacean populations and provide expert advice on the design and implementation of marine monitoring to both developers and regulatory bodies.

Our specialist Fish Health Unit provides expert consultancy to the aquaculture sector focusing on preventative fish health and welfare management, with extensive expertise based in Scotland, but also drawing upon the skills of our global knowledge network.

Since 2024, we have been part of the DNV Group, the world’s leading classification society and advisor to the maritime industry. We operate from laboratory and office facilities in Gloucester, Oban and Plymouth.
