Oliveira Lab is a US-based bioengineering research laboratory located in Greensboro, North Carolina, specializing in the design and engineering of novel biotech devices and synthetic microbial communities.

We investigate the complex interactions within microbial communities, focusing on how environmental variables influence their behavior and developing metrics to guide the creation of new collective behaviors. Our research leverages cutting-edge techniques including microfluidics, massively parallel microscopy, and machine learning to understand and manipulate these interactions.
