ORGANIC ISLANDS was founded in 2010 on the island of Naxos in Cyclades. The founder, Nikos Hatziandreou, was inspired by the Cycladic culture, the richness of the Greek flora, the treasure of traditional medicine as well as the necessity for economic development with the priority of preserving biodiversity and sustainable management of the precious natural resources of Cyclades. The beneficial properties of Greek herbs in maintaining health and well-being were described centuries ago by the Centaur Chiron, Asclepius, Hippocrates, Theophrastus, Dioscorides, and Galen. Through traditional medicine, their usefulness is widely accepted nowadays. The holistic approach to health and wellbeing, introduced by the philosophy of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, currently is gaining increasing importance all over the world. The aim of ORGANIC ISLANDS is to maintain, develop and disseminate this approach within and outside Greece, by producing modern, innovative organic herbal products from Greek aromatic and medicinal plants. We want our products to become «global ambassadors» of the unique and timeless value of the Greek herbs. Combining high quality, ecological and beautiful packaging and competitive prices, we aim to making our products accessible to consumers worldwide. Furthermore, ORGANIC ISLANDS operates with respect to the environment, the preservation of biodiversity and the sustainable management of the precious natural resources of Cycladic islands. The fact that ORGANIC ISLANDS has an integrated quality control system, makes us capable of having complete control and responsibility for the quality of our products, from the initial planting and cultivation of the aromatic plants and citrus fruits in our fields, the thorough selection of herbs from certified bio farmers, until the final packaged form that consumers receive in their hands. For the processing and packaging our products we own a modern fully equipped manufacturing unit in the island of Naxos.
