Il Caffè-Pasticceria Taveggia fu fondato nel 1909 da Fermo Taveggia, che trasformò il piccolo forno di famiglia in un bar-pasticceria. Il trasferimento negli attuali locali, ristrutturati per l’occasione dal noto architetto Gaetano Moretti, avvenne nel 1930 e ben presto il Taveggia divenne un luogo di ritrovo amatissimo dai Milanesi.
Tra i lucidi marmi, le ricercate boiserie, i cristalli scintillanti e il bellissimo bancone in legno pregiato si sentono a proprio agio anche numerosi illustri clienti: magistrati, avvocati, giornalisti, teste coronate e divi. Dopo numerosi cambi di gestione, un periodo di chiusura e un lungo restauro, il locale è stato riaperto a maggio 2022.
