Overview

Pitchfork Pantry is a student-led food pantry operating in Tempe, Arizona, dedicated to combating food insecurity among Arizona State University students. We provide free access to fresh produce, rescued groceries, and essential toiletries, ensuring students can focus on their studies and achieve their full potential. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we operate through the support of volunteers and community partners, embodying a commitment to compassion and building a thriving campus community. We recognize the sovereignty of the Akimel O’odham and the 22 Tribal Nations of Arizona, striving to foster an environment of success and possibility for all students.

Established in 2017 in response to research indicating that 32% of ASU dorm residents experienced inconsistent access to food, Pitchfork Pantry began as a student club. Through strategic partnerships with First United Methodist Church and the Student Success Center, we’ve expanded our reach to serve students across four campuses – Tempe, Downtown, West Valley, and Polytechnic – offering weekly distributions and pop-up events.

Our work extends beyond simply providing food; we also offer tools for developing better life skills, accessing emergency resources, and SNAP assistance. We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome feedback to enhance our services and ensure we are meeting the evolving needs of our student community.
