Overview

Porometer focuses on developing and commercializing instruments to measure pore size distribution, gas and liquid permeability. Our porometers are very much appreciated by both R&D and quality control labs to characterize the pore size and the pore size distribution for media used in filtration and separation processes, such as polymeric and ceramic membranes – including flat sheet and hollow fibre membranes – , non-wovens, paper, porous rocks, etc. The gas-liquid porometers measure through pores in the range of 500 μm to 15 nm, while the liquid-liquid porometers can measure through pores down to 2 nm. Our porometers are built in Germany with some unique designed components to guarantee the most accurate measurement of pressure and flow. Typical applications include dialysis, desalination, battery separators, carbon nanofibers, personal care. Next to porometers, we also develop & manufacture instruments used for membrane synthesis and characterization, such as an automatic membrane/film casting machine (MEMCAST™), or liquid permeability tester. Porometer also offers contract testing. Since our start in 2007, Porometer has produced and installed hundreds of instruments in a small market where our technology and support is highly appreciated by our customers all over the world.
