The Ridge journey started in early 2022 when we posed a fundamental question to ourselves: How can we invest our own capital in a manner that maximizes positive impact? We were driven to allocate a segment of our portfolio toward impact investments, particularly those with a focus on climate impact. For years, we had been diligently researching the effects of our consumption, exploring strategies for mitigating its impact, and identifying companies to support. Our goal was to align our investment decisions with this same ethos, as we firmly believed that donations alone couldn’t address the majority of our most pressing global challenges. For us, genuine sustainability encompasses a sustainable business model. After personally investing in projects around the world, we soon realized that this approach had imitations. Our quest to find a platform for investment revealed that there were many others searching for the same opportunity, yet no platform to serve them. That’s when we made the decision to create Ridge. Ridge is a fully digital investment platform, regulated in Germany, designed to simplify the process of investing in natural impact assets. Our mission is to change the way we invest and make it effortless to invest in assets that yield financial returns while simultaneously addressing climate change and diversifying any investment portfolio
