Rio School District is a thriving educational institution serving the El Rio community and surrounding areas in Oxnard, California. Established in 1885 as a one-room schoolhouse, we’ve grown to encompass five elementary schools, one K-8 school academy, and two middle schools, providing a comprehensive and nurturing learning environment for over 5,050 students. Our commitment to small school communities, averaging 500-700 students in the elementary schools and 700 at the middle schools, allows us to foster close relationships between students, teachers, and families. Through dedicated staff, robust educational programs, and a focus on student well-being, Rio School District inspires lifelong learners and active community members.
