Rutgers Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology

Rutgers Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology is a New Jersey-based educational institution providing evidence-based academic and clinical training for Master’s students in SLP. Our program emphasizes service delivery for multiethnic, socially diverse populations – including dialectal speakers of English and bilingual/multilingual individuals – with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders within an interdisciplinary healthcare context. We prepare students for a career in speech-language pathology through a curriculum steeped in scientific information and clinical procedures, focusing on culturally and linguistically diverse populations across the lifespan. Students benefit from small, in-person classes and clinical experience at the RU SLP Clinic, serving a diverse client base with needs ranging from speech production to swallowing difficulties. The program integrates interprofessional practice, diversity, and healthcare, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for their Clinical Fellowship year.

Rutgers’ MS-SLP program graduates students who have the knowledge and clinical skills relevant to cultural and linguistic diversity across the lifespan within interprofessional contexts. An academic, clinical, and interprofessional curriculum provides students with a strong foundation in speech-language pathology.

Furthermore, the program offers ASHA-approved continuing education (CE) opportunities for licensed speech-language pathologists, and graduates can earn Bilingual Competency Recognition. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, preparing the next generation of speech-language pathologists to serve diverse communities effectively.
