Sanar Institute

Sanar Institute is a leading nonprofit organization based in the greater New York City Metro area dedicated to healing the impact of trauma caused by interpersonal violence.

Sanar works globally to address the impacts of traumatic events, with a specific focus on all forms of human trafficking and interpersonal violence, through both direct service provision and capacity strengthening initiatives.

Our approach prioritizes trauma-informed and person-centered care for organizations and institutions working with individuals, families, and communities that have experienced or are vulnerable to interpersonal violence. We also support companies and organizations in building wellness programs that support staff impacted by secondary trauma.

Sanar’s services include a Wellness Center offering individual therapy and support groups, a Training and Education program delivering trauma-conscious care training, and Workplace Wellness initiatives designed to foster sustainable wellness in mission-driven organizations. We are committed to empowering individuals and building a world free of violence. Trauma-Informed Care, Wellness Programs, and Capacity Building are at the heart of our work.
