Scuttlebutt is a Toledo, Ohio-based digital boating community and social network, connecting boaters across the Great Lakes, Southeast, and Gulf Coast regions.

Scuttlebutt provides a centralized platform for boaters to share experiences, plan trips, and access valuable resources. It’s designed to simplify the boating experience by integrating tools like NOAA chart data, route plotting software from Savvy Navvy, and Points of Interest from Waterway Guide – all in one convenient location.

Built by experienced marine industry professionals, Erik and Melanie Kyle, Scuttlebutt aims to foster a strong sense of community among recreational, power, and sail boaters, and fishing boaters. The platform also offers social groups for connecting with friends and fellow enthusiasts, and provides a space for marine businesses to engage with their audience.

Scuttlebutt is powered by Vizx Media’s Private Marketplace (PMP) mobile first, self-serve advertising network, offering a unique opportunity for targeted advertising within the boating community.
