Seed Coalition

Seed Coalition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening higher education’s role in fostering an engaged democracy across Iowa, Minnesota, and the Midwest. We connect diverse college and university campuses – including rural and urban institutions, public and private colleges, and trade schools – to support community and civic engagement programs. Seed Coalition equips higher education professionals with the resources and expertise to cultivate civic learning experiences for students, fostering a generation of informed and active citizens. Through initiatives like the Civic Action Academy, Seed Talks, and the Presidents’ Awards, we empower campuses to address social issues and fulfill their public purposes. We are a leading regional coalition, providing a network for collaboration, professional development, and impactful student engagement, ultimately contributing to a more vibrant and democratic society.
