Short Bowel Syndrome Foundation, Inc is a non-profit organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, dedicated to providing resources and support for individuals and families affected by Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS). Founded in 2010, we offer a comprehensive online community, educational materials, and advocacy efforts to improve the lives of those living with this complex condition.

Our mission is to empower patients, family members, and healthcare professionals with knowledge and connections. We provide detailed information on SBS causes, symptoms, treatments, and management strategies, including surgical options and nutritional support. We also offer resources to help navigate the challenges of SBS and improve quality of life.

What distinguishes us is our commitment to building a strong, supportive network. Through our educational hub, patient support groups, and partnerships with leading experts, we strive to be a trusted resource and advocate for the SBS community. We are dedicated to advancing research and promoting awareness of this often- misunderstood condition.

We also offer the G.U.T. Program, providing emergency restroom cards and support for individuals with SBS. We are proud to partner with corporate funders and support the 2026 Oley Annual Conference.
