Overview

The Society for Human Resource Management of Johnson County (SHRMJC) is a professional association dedicated to human resource management. An affiliate of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), SHRMJC is Northeast Kansas'​ largest community of and leading resource for human resources professionals. Representing over 300 members, SHRMJC fosters the continuing development of human resources professionals, serves as a forum for the exchange of new ideas and advances the interests of the human resources profession. SHRMJC also offers opportunities for HR professionals to build critical business relationships with peers, colleagues and mentors through active networking avenues. Formed in 1979 and originally titled the Personnel Management Association of Olathe, the association, in 1984 became the Human Resource Management Association of Johnson County (HRMAJC). Fourteen year later, in 1998, HRMAJC became a SHRM affiliate chapter and, in 2009, the name was changed to SHRMJC. SHRMJC is an individual member organization which has served, for over 30 years, as the voice of human resources for the Johnson County, Kansas business communities. Our membership grows daily and consists of practitioners working at all levels in large, mid-sized, small and start-up organizations. Over 25% hold titles of director or above. In addition to human resources practitioners, our membership includes consultants, service providers, attorneys and educators.
