Sioux Falls Area Humane Society

The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is a cornerstone of animal welfare in eastern South Dakota, providing compassionate care and finding forever homes for abandoned, abused, and homeless animals since 1919. As the region’s largest open-admission animal shelter, we operate as a vital human voice for animals in need, dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and promoting humane treatment. With a team of 25 staff members and a dedicated volunteer base, we offer a comprehensive range of services, including adoption programs, foster care, pet food bank support, and educational outreach. We strive to create a safe haven where every animal receives the love and attention they deserve, ultimately contributing to a more compassionate community. Our commitment extends beyond immediate care, focusing on responsible pet ownership and advocating for animal rights.
