Overview

SMART Inclusion is the follow-up project of SMART which aimed at supporting organisational capacity building, resilience, and safe experiences for the sustainable tourism industry through the use of digital tools and the promotion of digital skills, interconnectivity, and interoperability. SMART was the response to a real need for more materials that professionals require to adapt to a new labour market through transversal skills and competencies SMART also aimed to raise awareness of the advantages of sustainable tourism for businesses, the community, and the environment. SMART encouraged tourism stakeholders to invest in the upskilling/reskilling of staff as well as support businesses and public authorities in the development and promotion of more environmentally sustainable destinations. SMART supported destinations wanting to develop a smarter and more sustainable tourism offer and who want to become more resilient. As a result, SMART contributed to contribute to sustainable post-COVID-19 recovery for tourism professionals and their destinations. SMART Inclusion focuses on promoting more accessible and inclusive tourism through digital tools, targeting both educators and tourism professionals. SMART and SMART Inclusion are Erasmus+ projects co-funded with the support of the European Union. SMART was co-ordinated by EURAKOM (France) and SMART Inclusion is coordinated by Domspain (Spain) with EURAKOM (France) and Greenvillage (Greece) as project partners.
