Sprout is an insurtech startup that provides insurance for farmers to build climate resilience. We provide a combination of seasonal weather insurance and Sprout Alerts, real-time weather monitoring, to bring maximum, affordable protection. When the weather is unexpectedly harmful to farmer yields, we pay farmers covered under our protection plans. We offer direct-to-farmer mobile technology that fits into any farmer supplier program. Climate change is increasing the risk of farming in Sub-Saharan Africa as temperatures and weather patterns are more volatile. Meanwhile, less than 3% of smallholder farmers have access to crop insurance. Endorsed by the Climate Finance Lab in 2019, Sprout's platform provides more resilience opportunities to farmers who face the toughest changes in weather.
