Starfish Energy - Renewable energy in Southeast Europe

Starfish Energy was born out of the idea of spiders and starfish as two opposing sides of the energy system. The old energy system is like a spider. It creeps its long legs into our homes and is dependent on its head, the centre of its neural network. "If you cut off a spider's head, it dies; if you cut off a starfish's leg it grows a new one, and that leg can grow into an entirely new starfish"​. The new energy system is like a starfish. Its distributed and it comes in packs of millions. We help societies get rid of their spider problems and grow packs of starfish.  Today Starfish Energy works on developing renewable energy and energy efficiency in Southeast Europe and beyond. We do this through action oriented research based on case study analysis, stakeholder interviews, design thinking methods and energy economics modelling.
