Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) is an integrated water resources planning and consulting firm that transforms ideas into action by providing innovative high-impact solutions for the planning, green building, and development community. With more than 9 years of experience in civil engineering and green infrastructure advocacy, SIS provides highly specialized technical support to a diverse range of public agencies, private clients, international NGOs, engineering and landscape architecture firms. With the belief that participatory planning and design are the key to sustainable infrastructure, SIS works collaboratively from conception through project implementation, conducting capacity-building workshops, design charrettes, performing green infrastructure feasibility analysis, 2D hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design, and supporting projects through the construction and maintenance life-cycle. As the Founder and Principal of Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions, Ms. Francis' contributions to her profession and community have been recognized with her being named Engineering New Record Magazines’ “Top 20 Under 40 in Texas and Louisiana” as well as the American Society of Civil Engineers “Young Engineer of the Year”. She will be serving as the 2017 ASCE-Houston Younger Member President and for two years previously served as the Community Service and Volunteering Chair. She’s also an educator, trainer, and construction supervisor for the Peru Rainwater Harvesting and Water Purification Project sponsored by Engineers Without Borders as well as the Outreach Chair for the non-profit. Ms. Francis is a previous instructor to The Sustainable Building Advisor Program in San Francisco hosted by Pacific, Gas, and Electric, which certifies working professionals in the green building industry. For the last several years, she has served on the Advisory Board and chaired the Education Committee of the Houston Land and Water Sustainability Forum.
