SwingPals

SwingPals is a Durham, North Carolina-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering at-risk students through the transformative power of golf, mindfulness, and resilience-building programs. Since 2010, we’ve served over 10,000 students, fostering a foundation of health and strong character in children facing adversity.

At SwingPals, we leverage the game of golf as a unique medium to cultivate mindfulness and self-regulation skills. Our program specifically targets middle school students in Durham Public Schools who are most vulnerable to challenges, including those eligible for free or reduced-price lunches and struggling academically.

We achieve this by providing a supportive and engaging environment where students develop confidence, emotional resilience, and focus—skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Our holistic approach combines golf coaching, mindfulness instruction, mentorship through Big Brothers Big Sisters, and opportunities for community service, all designed to unlock each student’s full potential and create positive change within their community.

We are proud to be a registered 501(c)(3) organization, fueled by the dedication of 80,000+ volunteer hours and the support of over 200 partners, including donors, sponsors, and champions of our mission.
