The Arc of Anchorage

The Arc of Anchorage is a nonprofit organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, dedicated to celebrating and encouraging the potential of people who experience disabilities since 1957.

For over six decades, The Arc of Anchorage has been a vital resource for individuals and families in Alaska, providing a comprehensive range of services including disability advocacy, behavioral health support, employment assistance, recreation programs, and community resources. We champion inclusivity and strive to create a community where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive.

Our commitment extends beyond immediate support, focusing on fostering independence, growth, and a high quality of life for those we serve. We offer housing options, seasonal classes, and a strong membership program to further our mission of recognizing and embracing people of all abilities.

The Arc of Anchorage was founded in 1957 by a group of parents who recognized the need for a dedicated organization to advocate for the rights and well-being of their children with disabilities, and continues to serve over 300 Alaskans today as a chapter of The Arc of the United States.
