The Center for Literacy & Learning

The Center for Literacy & Learning is a Louisiana-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals through literacy and learning. Established in 1992 as the Center for Development and Learning, we now operate under the name The Center for Literacy & Learning, reflecting our expanded mission to advance evidence-based practices in the classroom, home, and community. We provide comprehensive support to educators, families, and communities across Louisiana and beyond, focusing on early childhood literacy, reading instruction, and adult literacy development. Our programs, including the Science of Reading Learning Academy and Louisiana Reads!, are designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for lifelong success. We are committed to fostering a culture of literacy and learning, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We partner with schools, districts, and community organizations to implement effective literacy strategies and provide professional development for educators. Our impact extends to over 50 educators served, 50 books distributed, and 50+ family members reached annually, demonstrating our dedication to measurable outcomes and community engagement.
