The Hydrogeological Group

The Hydrogeological Group is a Special Interest Group of the Geological Society of London, dedicated to advancing the science and practice of hydrogeology within the United Kingdom. Established to represent a major professional interest in British hydrogeology, the Group provides a forum for knowledge sharing, education, and professional development for over 1000 members, including approximately 350 chartered hydrogeologists. We support research, encourage student involvement, and actively promote the role of hydrogeology within the broader geological community. Our committee, comprised of experienced professionals from diverse sectors like Jacobs, AtkinsRéalis, and the Environment Agency, is committed to fostering a thriving and sustainable hydrogeological landscape. We facilitate meetings, workshops, and events, and actively seek to connect industry with academia and the wider public, ensuring the continued relevance and impact of hydrogeological expertise.
