UniMet is a technology-based company with industrial engineering experts specializing in development, manufacturing and sales of innovative magneto hydrodynamic (MHD) technologies and equipment for primary aluminium casthouses and recycling plants. The company was formed in 2010 by FSAEI “Siberian Federal University” as an academic spin off in order to provide research, elaboration and commissioning of the innovative equipment for non-ferrous metallurgy. The company design work includes the use of mathematical modeling for analysis of thermal, electromagnetic, magnetohydrodynamic, CFD analysis and stress analysis of structures. This is done in order to discover all the capabilities of the technologies, visualize them to the customers and choose the best technical solution. For our clients we provide flexible ways of cooperation such as: OEM supply, License Agreements or JV establishment for common projects realization including our technical support along the whole product lifecycle. At the moment Company product line comprises of: Liquid Heart Metal Stirrer for large slabs casting- LHMS, Low Depth Metal Stirrer- LDMS, Type EF- energy efficient electromagnetic inductors and metal transfer system- MPS, distinguished by air cooling and minimal energy consumption. Realizing the potential for MHD technologies within the aluminium industry UniMet in 2015 has established a Manufacturing and Trading Company in Germany- MHD Center GmbH in Dusseldorf for promoting its innovative technologies to European and especially to German market. MHD Center currently provides complete customer support for further quick response to changing customer preferences in the sphere of equipment design, supply and installation. Thus, the equipment can be manufactured and supplied either from Russia or EU.
