Our story began in 1979, with the founding of Syarikat Logam Unitrade. The initial business activities were mainly retail, wholesale and distribution of pipes, valves, fittings and accessories to cater for the M&E works in the Building Services segment of the construction industry, primarily for installation of fire protection and plumbing systems. As the business grew, Syarikat Logam Unitrade Sdn Bhd was incorporated on 5th January 1984, to progress the business to the next level. Through the rapid developments and transformations in Malaysia over the next 4 decades, we went from strength to strength and made unprecedented progress to establish ourselves as one of the country’s largest homegrown building materials wholesalers and distributors and expanded our offerings to include reinforcement steel, structural steel and other building materials. In 2009, we acquired Ricwil (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a leading manufacturer of pre-insulated pipes in Malaysia, which expanded our Group offerings to include manufacturing and supply of pre-insulated pipes, primarily used to transport and maintain the temperature of fluids in the pipes in underground or aboveground piping systems. This venture brought tremendous synergy to our existing wholesale and distribution operations. In 2017, Unitrade United Sdn Bhd was incorporated to provide rental of temporary structural support equipment such as scaffolding, steel plates, hollow sections, Modular Houses & Folded Cabins for the construction industry. Today, we have firmly established ourselves as a leading one-stop total solution provider to the construction sector and industry, through the strength of our distribution network, manufacturing, rental solutions, and via strategic partnerships and alliances with renowned brands and manufacturers, whilst upholding our motto of Integrity, Reliability and Infinite Possibilities. One 14th June 2022, we were successfully listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
