The Utah Land Trusts Protection & Advocacy Office is a dedicated advocate for the beneficiaries of Utah’s School and Institutional Trust System. Located in Salt Lake City, we safeguard the interests of over 30 public entities – including public schools, universities, and hospitals – that rely on revenue generated from Utah’s trust lands. Our mission is to ensure the integrity and impact of this vital system for current and future beneficiaries through accountability, relationship-building, information sharing, and robust advocacy. We monitor trust activities, facilitate communication, and provide guidance to protect the long-term value and stability of these essential public resources. Established in 2018, the office plays a crucial role in upholding the principles of the Utah Enabling Act and promoting responsible stewardship of these trust assets, ensuring they continue to support the state’s public institutions for generations to come.
