UTK Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences is a leading research institution based in Knoxville, Tennessee, dedicated to advancing our understanding of Earth’s history and processes. We specialize in providing comprehensive geological research and education, encompassing planetary geoscience, geomicrobiology, and paleontology. Our team of expert scientists conducts fieldwork in some of the world’s most challenging environments, from the Antarctic Dry Valleys to Mars, utilizing cutting-edge techniques to investigate diamondiferous eclogites, fossilized edrioasteroids, and Martian meteorites. We partner with institutions like Oak Ridge National Laboratory to offer unique research opportunities. UTK EEPS supports undergraduate and graduate students pursuing B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in geology, preparing them for successful careers in academia, industry, and government.
