Vipiemme S.p.A. was founded in 1980 with the goal of becoming a benchmark for the production and sale of light and heavy-duty automotive batteries. The company’s approach is focused on three basic principles: • Total control of production and transformation from raw materials to final product; • Constant quality guaranteed over time; • Increased production volumes. Over time, Vipiemme has developed a sophisticated system for the generation of its know-how, establishing the company as a strategic research and testing hub, not only for accumulators (batteries) but also for machinery manufacturers. With the goal of having total control of the production process to ensure product quality, Vipiemme oversees the operations of the entire supply chain, starting with the processing of raw materials. Therefore, there are two laboratories in the company, a chemical one and an electronic one, where all quality controls of the working process can be conducted. The significance to social sensitivity in doing business and the respect for the environment led Vipiemme to certify its vision. Thus the company has several certifications by TÜV Italia: OHSAS 18001 for occupational health and safety management and 2 others related to environmental management systems: UNI EN ISO 9001 and UNI EN ISO 14001. The environment is at the center of any company action; in fact, consumption is almost entirely attributable to the electric carrier, which led to the installation of Solar Power Systems. In addition, the company uses machinery capable of using 10% less lead than traditional systems, implemented an energy consumption management system to control that there is no material leakage in any areas. The focus on sustainability is also found in the products, that's why Vipiemme is committed to reconditioning 99.7% of defective batteries and has been active since 1990 in Cobat, the consortium who guarantees an efficient collection, storage and recycling of any type of waste.
