For nearly five decades, Vision Maker Media has been the premiere source of public media by and about Native Americans, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Native cultures and perspectives. We work closely with VMM funded producers to develop, produce, and distribute impactful films and programs for all public media outlets.
Our mission is to envision and embrace stories guided by collective aspirations, honoring the wisdom of all generations and nurturing meaningful connections through shared understanding. We support training to increase the number of American Indians and Alaska Natives producing public broadcasting programs, and have distributed over 765 films, reaching 412 Tribal Communities and 300+ million viewers across the U.S. Native Media
