Wasatch Backcountry Alliance

Wasatch Backcountry Alliance is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the Central Wasatch Mountains’ backcountry terrain and access for human-powered winter recreation. As the recognized voice for the backcountry community, we advocate for responsible land management and represent the interests of skiers, snowboarders, snowmobilers, and other winter enthusiasts before land managers, elected officials, and the public. Established in 2013, WBA leverages a community-powered approach, supported by individual donations, to deliver critical information, promote sustainable practices, and champion the preservation of this iconic recreation area. Our ongoing projects, such as the Trailhead Counting Program and the Backcountry Shuttle, demonstrate our commitment to addressing challenges and fostering a thriving backcountry experience for all.
