Woodknowledge Wales

Woodknowledge Wales is a not-for-profit, for public good membership organisation based in Bangor, Wales, dedicated to championing the growth of wood-based industries and fostering a sustainable economy for the nation. We work collaboratively with businesses, organisations, and communities to increase the market for wood, promote innovative timber solutions, and drive the adoption of home-grown timber across construction and housing. Our focus is on delivering applied research, supporting supply chain development, and inspiring a movement towards a thriving forest economy in Wales, contributing to climate change mitigation, job creation, and enhanced wellbeing. We are committed to supporting the development of innovative timber products and construction methods, including timber frame construction, Welsh timber windows, and the use of regenerative materials, ultimately contributing to a low-carbon future for Wales. We actively engage in projects such as the Home-Grown Homes Project and Regenerative Materials First, demonstrating our commitment to sustainable building practices and fostering a circular economy. Through our events, resources, and collaborative network, Woodknowledge Wales is a key driver of positive change within the Welsh forestry and wood processing sectors.
