Although recently established, the company brings at least 40 years of family experience in the trade of animal rennet in the form of raw dried abomasums.
Our vision for years has been to create a laboratory where the high quality of the raw traditional product meets the modern methods of processing and standardization. So, driven by passion and perseverance and guided by observation and study, we have recently reached the realization of our initial conception with the establishment of the new company. Escargot de Crete is all about Cornu Aspersum (aka Helix Aspersa or common garden) snails, and their multiple beneficial properties for the human health.
The company was founded in 2010 on the island of Crete by Dr Charalampos Kiagias. Like all Cretans, he was born and raised in a place where these properties are known first hand and therefore these special creatures are highly valued by the inhabitants of the island for centuries now.
In it's first year of operation the company created the first vertical unit for snail breeding and products in Greece. After that, many aqcuired the know-how that Escargot de Crete pionnered at, but Dr Kiagias wasn't content with the way greenhouses were limiting snails' contact with the sun, the rain and the natural flora. He started experimenting and the company moved on from the widely used by other companies snail farming methods.
Today Escargot de Crete breeds snails in nature with ecological farming principles. The snails live among organically grown olive trees. They come in direct contact with the sun, the rain, the wind and the soil of their natural habitat, but also with the organically grown olive groves and the natural flora of the island of Crete from which they get their unique characteristics.
It is an ecological farming with minimum environmental footprint. Farming resources are shared by both snails and olive groves and both organisms benefit from each other's presence.
What makes Escargot de Crete's snail breeding unique, is this ecological totally open air snail breeding and also the fact that it is possible year round, due to the location and the local climate.
Escargot de Crete also provides the top quality basic ingredient (snail secretion) for the Panacea3 snail based skin care cosmetics.

Η ιστορία της οικογένειας Δαλαμήτρα στην παραγωγή γάλακτος άρχισε το 1967, όταν ο Θεόδωρος Δαλαμήτρας, ξεκίνησε την εκτροφή βοοειδών γαλακτοπαραγωγής με μόλις επτά αγελάδες, σε μια αποθήκη παρακείμενη της οικίας του στην Καρίτσα Πιερίας, στους πρόποδες του Ολύμπου.
Φρόντισε από την αρχή να τους εξασφαλίσει τις καταλληλότερες συνθήκες σταβλισμού και, όταν το 1986 ξεκίνησε ως «ο γαλατάς της γειτονιάς», διακρίθηκε γρήγορα για την ποιότητα του γάλακτος. Έμεινε δραστήριος ως και το 1997, όταν η επιχείρηση πέρασε στα χέρια του γιου του, Γεωργίου Δαλαμήτρα.
Με αγάπη και μεράκι για την αγελαδοτροφία, ο Γεώργιος εκσυγχρόνισε την παραγωγή γάλακτος, δημιουργώντας σε νέα τοποθεσία, στους πρόποδες του Ολύμπου, μια πρότυπη αγελαδοτροφική μονάδα ευρωπαϊκών προδιαγραφών, αυξάνοντας σημαντικά το ζωικό κεφάλαιο.
Σήμερα, η Μαρία και ο Θοδωρής, συνεχίζοντας την οικογενειακή παράδοση ως τρίτη γενιά της οικογένειας Δαλαμήτρα, επιμένουν σε αυτό που μάθανε από τον παππού τους: να διατηρήσουν ζωντανή τη συναισθηματική, γευστική και ποιοτική κληρονομιά των γαλακτοκομικών προϊόντων τους.
Γι’ αυτό το λόγο ανέλαβαν πρωτοβουλία, αφενός για την τελειοποίηση των εγκαταστάσεων και την επιστημονική πιστοποίηση της ποιότητας του γάλακτος, και αφετέρου την έρευνα αγοράς στο επίπεδο της ζήτησης και της προσφοράς.

Οι ελαιώνες της οικογένειας μας βρίσκονται στην άνω Μεσσηνία, στο χωριό Δεσύλλας.
Είναι περικυκλωμένοι από κατάφυτους ορεινούς όγκους και έχουν ένα ποταμάκι που τρέχει στα νότια της πεδιάδας προσφέροντας άρδευση, που σε συνδυασμό με το μοναδικό μικροκλίμα της περιοχής, δημιουργούνται οι βέλτιστες συνθήκες για την παραγωγή Εξαιρετικού Παρθένου Ελαιολάδου και Ελιών Καλαμών ανώτερης ποιότητας και γεύσης.
Παραμένουν στην ιδιοκτησία της οικογένειάς μας ήδη από την Τουρκοκρατία καθώς η γρια-Μαριά (προ-προ-προ γιαγιά της μητέρας μου, Πόλυς Δημητροπούλου) είχε στην κατοχή της τεράστιες εκτάσεις ελαιώνων και αναγκαζόταν να πληρώνει χαράτσι στους Οθωμανούς για να κρατήσει την περιουσία της μέχρι και την Επανάσταση του 1821 και την απελευθέρωσή μας από τους Τούρκους.
Αυτή η υπερ-εκατονταετής εμπειρία μας στην ελαιοκαλλιέργεια, επιτάσσει να παραμείνουμε πιστοί στο όραμά μας. Όπως έλεγε και ο παππούς μου:
«Εμείς οι Έλληνες δίναμε και δίνουμε μεγάλη προσοχή στα ατμοσφαιρικά φαινόμενα, τις θέσεις των αστερισμών στο σύμπαν, τις εποχές και τους σεληνιακούς κύκλους, ψάχνοντας πάντα την ισορροπία μεταξύ της γης, των ζώων και του ανθρώπου…Όπως και στην αρχαία Ελλάδα, θα πρέπει να ελέγξουμε πρώτα το φεγγάρι αν γεμίζει ή χάνεται για να φυτέψουμε μια νέα ελιά… έτσι θα είσαι σίγουρος πως θα “πιάσει” και θα γίνει εύρωστη και δυνατή»
Δεν χρησιμοποιούμε ποτέ δηλητήρια για την καλλιέργεια και τα αγριόχορτα και τα καταπολεμάμε με τη συνεχή μάχη που δίνουμε με τα χορτοκοπτικά, τους θρυμματοποιητές, και την πολύτιμη βοήθεια από τα προβατάκια και κατσικάκια που βόσκουν στις εκτάσεις μας δίνοντάς μας φυσικό λίπασμα.

The company was founded in 1948 by two brothers, Spyros Nikolaou and his brother Giannis, as a small wine press in the center of Aliveri. Afterwards, with the succession of the second generation represented by Nikos, the company expanded to a new location with the creation of two Production Lines and the first bottling operation, entering the new millennium in 2000.
It is one of the first wine production companies to engage wine in plastic bottles, with the aim of offering affordable prices to the average consumer for a quality product.
Today, it is an emerging company with modern facilities that produce up to 3,000 tons of wine annually. With a rich production of white, red, rosé wines, and retsina from both international and indigenous varieties, it stands as a reliable combination of Quality and Price in many regions of Greece.

Green Blue savours is a new and dynamic company, based in Edessa, Greece and is a passionate cultivator and producer of Greek superfoods, traditional and modern, which are characterized by excellent taste, high nutritional value and practical packaging.
Our products enclose smells and flavors from the Greek land with the characteristic blue colour of the sky and the sea and the unique green colour of fertile Greek nature.
