Starting with the design of the raw materials, producing the kits and selling the IVD test to the end users through distributors or through its partners channels. OPERON is active in 4 different areas: 1. Lateral Flow Tests, more than 20 years experience. Working on a 3rd quantitative generation using fluorescent particles and a portable Point Of Care POC reading instrument. 2. Molecular Biology tests, based on different technologies: hybridization on strip (Opegen products), and Real Time PCR. All these products are based on the capture with specific probes of DNA fragments amplified by a conventional PCR. 3. Raw Materials: Develops Monoclonal Antibodies and Recombinant Antigens and produces them also in bioreactors and fermentors at industrial scale. 4. All our know how is available as a service. Development of new Monoclonal Antibodies and Recombinant Antigens, large scale production, purification. The development of innovative IVD tests is our most challenging task. Exporting more than 90% of its turnover mainly to Europe, US, Japan and 50 more countries. OPERON currently sells its brand name products using a network of distributors around the world, but our largest activity is to manufacture OEM kits or to supply in bulk to leading companies in the IVD sector.

Mission: Deliver low-cost, non-invasive in vitro diagnostics (IVDs) for high-incidence diseases at the point-of-care. Approach: Using Raman Spectroscopy and Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) to achieve detection beyond current standard-of-care IVDs. Existing research supports identifying target diseases in urine using this approach. Focus: Serox has attracted a fantastic array of scientific and medical advisors and has established clinical relationships to help validate its approach, initially in bladder, prostate and kidney cancers. The intention is to ‘bundle’ tests which may be requested together, say when a patient presents with blood in their urine. Women’s cancers will follow, along with point-of-care speciation of Urinary Tract Infections. Differentiation: Serox displaces chemistry with photonics and Machine Learning, to allow urinalysis to avoid invasive procedures (blood taking, biopsy cystoscopy). Serox is following a data-focussed path that will lead to the personalisation of IVD. Timeliness: Raman Spectroscopy and SERS have long been used in advanced laboratories. The price of lasers and detectors is falling, and the usability and deployability of Raman Spectrometer improving. Machine Learning allows the ability to diagnose from the aggregate of Raman shifts in complex liquids. Together this unlocks the use of Raman Spectroscopy as a routine diagnostic. Outcome: Serox offers the prospect of a low-cost cartridge that be used remotely to acquire a urine sample, or in a clinic at the point-of-care, that can be processed using a desktop analyser in less than three minutes to provide an answer with a high Negative Predictive Value, and sensitivity / specificity in line with the current standard-of-care. This could reduce referrals to cystoscopy and biopsy, ultimately transform screening, and reduce the unnecessary use of broad-spectrum antimicrobials.

Frequently asked questions

Updated 23 October 2026

What is Enterprise League?

Enterprise League is a free business directory that helps buyers find the right company by sector and country. Every company has a profile showing what it does, what it offers and how to get in touch.

Is it free to list my company?

Yes, and it stays free: no card, no paid tier. Your profile appears in search results and category pages, can show up to 20 products and services, and lets buyers message you or ask for a quote.

How does verification work, and what does it cost?

Verifying your company is free. Confirm a code we email to an address at your company’s website, or send a company registration document for our team to check, and the verified badge appears on your profile. To show the badge in the directory and search results as well, take out a subscription: the first 14 days are free, and the price is on our pricing page.

Where does the company information come from?

Most profiles are built from public sources, such as official company registers. Claim your company’s profile to correct its details and add your own.

How do I claim or correct my company’s profile?

Open your company’s profile and choose Claim Profile. If you use an email address at your company’s website, a 6-digit code makes the profile yours at once; otherwise our team reviews your request, usually within a few days. Spotted a mistake on a company that isn’t yours? Tell us through our contact page.
