A typical process would be: Review of Summons & Compliant to determine if an Answer is in order and for whom. Review conducted in concert with coverage analysis. Plaintiff attorney contact (re: Extension/Stipulation, etc.) and defense attorney contact (re: Answer) Correspondence to plaintiff attorney, defense attorney, co-defendants, and insured (request of pertinent documents, etc.) Initiate appropriate field investigation Review and evaluate documentation and investigative results Based on analysis of above, determine liability and exposure and then decide on the appropriate course of action: Defend Bring in appropriate joint tort feasors Settle in proportion to exposure Third Party Administration Programs
