Kate’s Kart is a Fort Wayne, Indiana-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hospitalized children with the comfort and joy of new books. Through the gifting of over 3,500 new books to medical centers across Northeast Indiana, we aim to foster a love of reading and encourage caregivers to read to their children.

We operate through a network of over 100 dedicated volunteers and 37 karts, delivering a vital service to children facing challenging circumstances.

What sets Kate’s Kart apart is our commitment to providing *new* books, allowing children to choose their own stories and experience a sense of control and normalcy during their hospital stays. Our unique model, leveraging bulk purchasing to maximize the impact of donations, allows us to provide 60-80% more books per dollar donated than traditional book drives.
