Volt Movement is a Durham, North Carolina-based individualized coaching and programming platform for endurance athletes, specializing in biomechanics analysis and injury prevention.

Founded by Dr. Sam Ray Hegedus, a physical therapist and triathlete, Volt Movement combines her extensive expertise in sports medicine with a passion for athletic performance. Dr. Hegedus’s background includes collegiate swimming, a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, and experience working with Team USA Shooting and Rock Steady Boxing, demonstrating a commitment to holistic athlete care.

Volt Movement serves endurance athletes of all levels – from first-time runners to ultra-marathoners – providing tailored training plans, strength training programming, and biomechanical assessments to optimize performance and minimize the risk of injury. We are dedicated to helping athletes unlock their full potential and achieve their goals with a personalized approach.

Our team also includes Alex Mimlitz, a seasoned running store operator and coach with a deep understanding of the running community, and Sam Claypool, a RRCA Level 1 coach with experience in soccer and basketball coaching. We offer a range of services including triathlon/multisport programming, running and swimming analysis, and group training sessions.
