Allen County Parks is a government agency dedicated to providing recreational opportunities and environmental education for the people of Allen County, Indiana.

We manage four beautiful county parks – Fox Island, Metea, Payton, and Cook’s Landing – offering a diverse range of activities including hiking, swimming, fishing, and nature programs for all ages.

Allen County Parks are partially tax supported and rely on user fees and donations to operate. Our mission is to establish and manage a permanent park system incorporating conservation, education, outdoor values, and nature preservation. We are deeply committed to preserving the natural beauty of Allen County and providing enriching experiences for our community.

A significant part of our legacy is Ron Divelbiss, affectionately known as ‘Grumpy,’ who was a key figure in the creation of Metea County Park and a passionate advocate for the parks system. We continue his work by offering educational programs and preserving the natural environment for future generations.
