Overview

WW2 Armor is a historical education group based in central Florida. Our mission is to educate the public on the tactics, training and vehicles used by armored forces during World War II, particularly in the European Theatre. We do that through use of fully operational vehicles including the M4 Sherman tank, M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, M36 Jackson tank destroyer and other armored vehicles. WW2 Armor is headed up and managed by Rabbi Rob Thomas. Yes, he owns all of WW2 Armor’s vehicles and weapons. No, really, all of them. Yes, he’s actually a rabbi. That’s not a nickname. He’s also a Navy veteran. The team is a mix of full-time, paid staff and part-time volunteers. Some are either currently-serving or retired military members – our team includes quite a few combat vets who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and other locations. Others on the team simply have a passion for history or armor. All work very hard to keep the vehicles and weapons in full working order and spend considerable time learning about the era, the machines and the men who crewed them. Based in central Florida, we take part in WWII re-enactments, other educational events and have participated in television and movie productions. We’re happy to share our knowledge and are always looking to learn more. We also welcome additional opportunities to showcase our vehicles and our team.

We bring the ‘museum’ to the public by allowing people to experience what it was like to be a tank crewmember during WWII. Our vehicles roar to life, kicking up dust and dirt as they rumble past, accompanied by the thundering boom of the main gun and the low, repetitive thud of the M2 .50 cal. machine gun.

Our team, comprised of full-time staff and part-time volunteers, including many combat veterans, is dedicated to preserving and educating about these iconic vehicles. We strive to provide an authentic and immersive experience for visitors, fostering a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made during World War II.

We are committed to sharing our knowledge and passion for history through demonstrations, events, and educational programs. Contact us to explore opportunities for collaboration and to learn more about our mission.
