Vassaltis is the latest addition to Santorini’s long, storied winemaking history. Owner Yannis Valambous’ passion for wine drew him back to the island of Santorini, where he spent many a happy family holiday as a child. In the wake of the 2010 Greek financial crisis, a plan took root in his mind, a plan that was part dream, part folly. Yannis sought to breathe new life into the vineyards he inherited from his father.
Looking out across the vines, Yannis saw the potential to create something truly exceptional and unique with the land his father left him. He focused in on a single goal – to transform the family vineyards into a thoroughly modern, state-of-the-art boutique winery and craft exquisite wines which showcase the quality of Santorini’s grapes.It took a few years, but when construction of the new winery finished in April 2016, Yannis was ready to dive into his new venture.
Working alongside the exceptionally talented oenologists Elias Roussakis and Yannis Papaeconomou, they entered the next phase of this exciting endeavour – crafting the wine. The three men were brought together by a shared vision: to prove that Santorini is capable of producing world-class wines and that the new generation of Greek winemakers, using their skill and winemaking artistry, are the ones to help bring these wines to an international audience of wine lovers.

Οι Μύλοι Αγίας Μαρίνας δραστηριοποιούνται κυρίως στην παραγωγή και διακίνηση αλεύρων και μειγμάτων από το 1926. Διαθέτουν κατάστημα χονδρικής, αλλά και κατάστημα λιανικής πώλησης. Προμηθεύουν αρτοποιεία, καταστήματα λιανικής, σχολές αρτοποιών και αρκετές άλλες επιχειρήσεις.
Αυτή τη στιγμή, διαθέτουν επίσης, μια νέα υπερσύγχρονη παραγωγική μονάδα στη Βόνη Ηρακλείου Κρήτης. Our company “Wisdom of Nature” was established in 2005 in order to make the best out of our 8 hectares of organic farming vineyards in the region Nemea on the Peloponnese in Greece. From the beginning, we decided to use only Greek grape varieties like the famous Agiorgitiko as well as the Roditis and to not use any preservatives and additives in our products. In 2006, with the community initiative "LEADER+" funding, our production and bottling unit was completed and our first products entered the market. Soon we had orders from Greece and abroad and today we export to more than 15 countries all over the world. In 2014 three of our products won a Great Taste Award by the Guild of Fine Food in London. Our Petimezi – Pure Grape Syrup, the Sweet Vinegar and the White Balsamic Vinegar with honey “Sofia” were awarded. Kotrotsos Winery was established in 1996 by Yiannis Kotrotsos, a chemist-oenologist. Having worked in wineries in Achaia and Nemea for 15 years he started his own winery. The winery privately owned modern facilities are situated 15 km north of Patras, at Vasiliko, Erymanthos Municipality, in the Prefecture of Achaia. Thanks to scientific expertise, passion, love and desire for excellent wine, Kotrotsos Winery makes high-quality wines from selected vineyards. Being an excellent combination of quality and price, those wines are competitive as well as within most consumers’ reach. The company cooperates permanently with viticulturists who grow grapes meeting the quality requirements. The most interesting grape varieties from Greece and abroad are used in the wine-making process which is carried out under controlled conditions.
Located in a separate space in the winery, it features a modern 1300 lt still with a 6-plate rectification column for the production of high-quality distillate. It has stainless steel storage tanks for raw materials, for the collection of various distillate varieties from Muscat, Roditis and Agiorgitiko marc and for mixing, to create the final product.

It was 1950 when Staphanos Kalandaridis, a descerndant of an Asia Minor refugee family with a deep and long tradition in the dairy industry, decided to enter the sector of cheesemaking. Under harsh conditions and armed with an intense will to bring the family tradition to the fore, he started his business in a small factory in the village of Simantra, Chalkidiki, a region very well-known for its excellent milk quality.
This allowed the faster introduction of the raw materials, their immediate processing as well as the appropriate cooperation and the creation of strong bonds with stockbreeders with which the company has been and still is cooperating.
In the beginning the company devoted its production to feta. A few years later, the littlee building where the cheese factory used to operate could no longer cover the continually growing needs of the company. In 2007, Mr Athanasios Klandaridis transferred the compoany in the new facilities where it is still operating.
The new factory is equiped with the most sophisticated machines bought from other European countries and production takes place on a industrial level according to hygiene rules (IFS 6.1) and to the same traditional methods and recipes we have brought with us from Cappadocia. Thus, the new products acquire the same scope as the Kaseri cheese, reminding to those trying it of the traditional taste and original aroma.
Goat cheese and pepper cheese are distinguished by their unique taste; Kefalotyri for its saganaki version, yoghurt for its slight acidity and the Whey cheeses for being more fat-free but still equally tasty. It should also be mentioned that the characteristic taste of our products is also owed to the fact that we only use sheep and goat milk, as well as that our company has never used other preparations.
