It was the passion of Georgios Tsolis for the graphic arts that led him to create the Paper Emporium. In 1973 – already an accomplished and innovative printer – he founded the ‘G. Tsolis and Co. LP’s based in Mets, marrying graphic arts and paper retail.
In 1989, needing larger warehouses, the company moved its headquarters to its own 4,000 m2 facilities in Alimos, becoming a Société Anonyme in 1990.
Today, as it turns 50, the company is headed by Eleana G. Το ξεκίνημα της Softex, μας φέρνει πίσω στο 1936 όπου ιδρύθηκε από την οικογένεια Κεφάλα και στο 1937 που ξεκίνησε να λειτουργεί στο Βοτανικό. Η πορεία της από την αρχή ήταν ανοδική εκτινάσσοντας την παραγωγή χαρτιού από 1.250 τόνους το 1950 σε 59.000 τόνους το 1968. Μέχρι το 1974 το χαρτί Softex έμπαινε σε περισσότερα από τα μισά νοικοκυριά στην Ελλάδα. Το 1984 πέρασε στο Δημόσιο και το 1999 μεταβιβάστηκε στην ιταλική πολυεθνική Bolton Group και στη συνέχεια το brand Softex αγοράζεται από την χαρτοβιομηχανία Intertrade Hellas Α.Β.Ε.Ε, μία από τις μεγαλύτερες εταιρείες επεξεργασίας χάρτου στην Ελλάδα. Η τεχνική μας ομάδα δραστηριοποιείται στον τομέα του βιομηχανικού κλιματισμού και της ψύξης από το 1983 με διαφορετικές επωνυμίες όπως η Euroclima (κλιματισμός), η Tefrigo (βιομηχανική ψύξη) και η Βιοψύξη (ψύξη σε ευαίσθητα προϊόντα). Από το 2000 και μετά, όταν εμφανίστηκαν τα ζητήματα της κλιματικής αλλαγής και των ανανεώσιμων πηγών ενέργειας, ήμασταν από τους πρώτους που καταβάλαμε προσπάθειες ανάπτυξης των αντλιών θερμότητας ως ανανεώσιμη πηγή ενέργειας. Η αντλία θερμότητας είναι ουσιαστικά μια μηχανή ψύξης αλλά με ιδιαίτερα ενεργειακά χαρακτηριστικά, με χαμηλή κατανάλωση και υψηλή απόδοση.
Ξεκινώντας από το 2003, με συνεχή έρευνα, πειραματικές δοκιμές και εφαρμογές σε τοπικό επίπεδο, καταλήξαμε, το 2011 να έχουμε μια παραγωγή με τα πιο ενεργειακά μηχανήματα, εναρμονισμένα στα ευρωπαϊκά και διεθνή πρότυπα ποιότητας, υγιεινής, ασφάλειας καθώς και ενεργειακής απόδοσης, με όλες τις απαραίτητες πιστοποιήσεις.
Είμαστε από τους πρώτους που πέρασαν στην εποχή των φιλικών προς το περιβάλλον ψυκτικών ρευστών (R32) και όχι μόνο στα μικρής ιπποδύναμης μηχανήματα, αλλά σε όλα μας τα προϊόντα.
Όπως πάντα με τους πρωτοπόρους, συνεχίζουμε βελτιώνοντας την παραγωγή μας, αναβαθμίζοντας την ενεργειακή απόδοση. Ενδεικτικά έχουμε σημειώσει έως 5 βαθμούς SEER και έως 7 βαθμούς SCOP.

The DNA High performance air filter is a high quality, next generation multilayer cotton gauze oil impregnated air filter.
The filtering media is made out of 4 layers of high quality nafta surgical cotton gauze specially designed by our R&D department.
The DNA cotton is sandwiched between two layers of epoxycoated Marine grade aluminum wire mesh, designed to last a lifetime.
The 4 layers of cotton and the two layers of wire mesh are pleated by state of art electronically controlled pleating machines to assure a very high quality of the final filtration media.
The result of the special design and the Hi Tec manufacturing process is a filtration media that has very high flow rates, low restriction, superior dust holding capability, smoothens out the air flow stream and lasts a lifetime.
The frame of the DNA filter is made out of High quality PU elastomer or Rigid PU. It is designed to fit precisely the air box eliminating air leaks and vibration.
The oil that we use to impregnate the cotton is a very special grade developed by our R&D department after intense testing and produced by one of the world’s best Oil Company. This special oil is a very critical part of the filter and has the capability to produce a static charge to the cotton media and “catch” all the dust particles that flow towards the filter, even the very fine ones, down to 5 microns.

Georgios Stergiou over the years has created one of the most successful wood trading companies in Western Greece. His passion developed the company through the years and is now passed to his son Elias.
In 1993 Elias Stergiou returned from his studies abroad and took a leading role in the company. In 1995 Stergiou ABEE was founded with the merge of two similar companies (one focused on the industrial production and the other on wood-trading). Η αρχή της σύστασης του Μετοχικού Ταμείου Στρατού έγινε στις 8 Οκτωβρίου 1852, όταν ο τότε Υπουργός Στρατιωτικών Σπύρος Μήλιος, παρουσίασε στην Βουλή νομοσχέδιο για τη σύσταση Ταμείου για την εξασφάλιση και ανακούφιση των χηρών και ορφανών των αγωνιστών του αγώνα της ανεξαρτησίας που έπεσαν υπέρ της Ελευθερίας της Πατρίδας, καθώς και των επιζώντων αγωνιστών του απελευθερωτικού αγώνα.
Το 1853 δημοσιεύτηκε ο νόμος περί ιδρύσεως του «Ταμείου Χηρών και Ορφανών του Στρατού της γραμμής, της Χωροφυλακής και της Οροφυλακής», με δικούς του πόρους. Το κείμενο του νόμου είχε συντάξει ο αγωνιστής και στρατιωτικός συγγραφέας λοχαγός Χρήστος Βυζάντιος, ο οποίος είχε πληροφορηθεί ότι κάτι ανάλογο ίσχυε και στους ξένους στρατούς.
Το 1861 ιδρύθηκαν τρία ξεχωριστά ταμεία (Αξιωματικών, Υπαξιωματικών και Χηρών και Ορφανών). Το 1867 τα τρία αυτά ταμεία συνενώθηκαν σε ένα, το «Ταμείον Μετοχικόν του κατά Γην Στρατού». Το 1935 με το ΠΔ (ΦΕΚ 17/1935) μετονομάσθηκε σε Μετοχικό Ταμείο Στρατού. Το 1937 με τον Α.Ν 559/1937, ο οποίος με ορισμένες τροποποιήσεις ισχύει μέχρι σήμερα, μπήκαν οι στέρεες βάσεις οργάνωσης και λειτουργίας του ΜΤΣ. Με τις προβλέψεις εκείνου του νόμου και την ισχύουσα σήμερα νομοθεσία, το ΜΤΣ είναι Νομικό Πρόσωπο Δημοσίου Δικαίου (ΝΠΔΔ) και τελεί υπό τον έλεγχο και την εποπτεία του Υπουργού Εθνικής Άμυνας μέσω του Γενικού Επιτελείου Στρατού δια της Διευθύνσεως Οικονομικού (Ν.660/77 αρθ.25).

LIFE CO2toCH4 aims at developing and demonstrating an innovative, integrated, and sustainable industrial process for simultaneous energy storage and CO2 capture and utilization (CCU). The ultimate goal of the project is to construct, test and operate (TRL8) a smart mobile unit for hybrid energy storage able to be installed in remote energy systems that commonly have low capacity (e.g. remote areas or islands that are not interconnected with the central energy grid). The technology relies on the fact that the RES will be used for water electrolysis, and subsequently the produced H2 will be biologically converted into methane (as a non-fossil biofuel) together with CO2 from exhaust gasses.
