We began a long time ago, in 1878 in fact, with Silviano Venchi, a 20-year-old from Turin who loved chocolate so much he spent all his savings on two bronze cauldrons and began to experiment, first in his apartment, then in a small place on Via degli Artisti in Borgo Vaniglia, Turin. These experiments were so successful that after some years came Nougatine, a sweet with Piedmont hazelnuts, chopped, caramelised and coated in extra-dark chocolate (we recommend rereading this history while sampling some) and Venchi Spa, “the most elegant chocolate shop in Piedmont” named among other things “Purveyor to the Royal Household”. Today, there is no longer the royal coat of arms on the packaging, but the passion, meticulous care and courage to experiment remain. And so it was that all of our imaginatively named chocolates were created: our Chocaviar, Truffles, Gianduiotti, Cremini, bars, Suprema spread, Gelato and Gourmet eggs. All delicious, healthy, natural, made with the best ingredients and the best intentions: to look on the bright side and to live a long happy life that, if nothing else, is a little bit sweeter. With 140 years of history, today we have international recognition: with more than 350 chocolate recipes and 90 gelato flavours, we’re found in more than 70 countries in key cities like London, Hong Kong, Dubai and New York with the biggest chocolate waterfall of all time. Bisogna tornare indietro di ben due secoli, al lontano 1889 per individuare l’anno di nascita dell’Acetificio M. de Nigris, per opera di Armando, il fondatore. Inizia alla fine dell’’800 la storia dell’azienda che affonda le proprie origini in quella che un tempo era la ricca e fertile provincia di Napoli e che fino a pochi decenni prima era stata capitale del Regno delle due Sicilie. Dopo l’unità d’Italia, grazie ad un clima di grande entusiasmo e di apertura verso nuovi mercati, a collegamenti più sviluppati e al fermento della giovane Italia, Armando de Nigris, forte di un patrimonio ereditato dalla famiglia, vantando ricette centenarie tramandate da generazioni, diede vita alla produzione di aceti di vino di eccellente qualità. È da allora che la famiglia de Nigris si dedica con passione alla produzione di Aceto. Il motto attribuito a Marcello de Nigris: “i confini non esistono” e la sua lungimiranza, hanno fatto si che l’aceto, da prodotto marginale diventasse presto un condimento “italiano” riconosciuto in tutto il mondo. Così, dopo l’immediato successo dell’olio di nocciola tra i professionisti del Settore, è stata creata una intera gamma di oli da frutta secca rigorosamente italiana, selezionata da produttori di fiducia, e declinata in tutte le varianti: granelle, farine, paste in purezza. Negli anni successivi il catalogo è stato completato con una ampia gamma di frutta e verdura candita e semicandita, essenze naturali e prodotti finiti come creme spalmabili, praline e la Torta Sbrisolina realizzata in collaborazione con il Maestro Luigi Biasetto. Non una, ma più aziende: questo il concetto innovativo della Pariani che, con accordi mirati, si è diffusa nelle regioni italiane dove si coltivano, e in parte si lavorano, i prodotti. A Cortemilia nel cuore delle Langhe dove si coltiva la “Nocciola Piemonte I.G.P.”, a Bronte il “Pistacchio Verde di Bronte” DOP, nella Val di Noto la mandorla, il litorale pisano per il pinolo e il Veneto per la noce “Lara”. Il cuore dell’azienda è a Givoletto, alle porte di Torino, con gli uffici, il laboratorio di spremitura, i magazzini, lo shop e la saletta degustazione. Ma la forza e la sicurezza vengono anche dai “presidi umani”: i contadini che in Piemonte, Veneto, Toscana e Sicilia lavorano i frutteti che garantiscono la qualità delle materie prime. Velier è una storica azienda familiare genovese che si occupa di importazione e distribuzione di distillati, liquori e vini. I vini sono prodotti da vigneti che si trovano in quattro cru: Guardiola,Santo Spirito, Calderara e Feudo di Mezzo. Le condizioni estremamente particolari del terreno e del clima insieme alla altitudine elevata rendono questi vini simili a quelli della Borgogna o del Barolo. L'azienda è stata in fase di conversione al biologico dal 2007. E' ufficialmente certificata dall'annata 2010.

Dagli anni '70 la famiglia Guerriero opera nella macellazione e lavorazione delle carni suine.
