When Nicola Milano in 1889 started producing vinegar, he had a clear vision of the quality of the product. His son Andrea, who gave the name to the firm, continued his father’s work from the teachings he received. Even then, vinegar was the result of the harmonious mixture of the raw materials, the devotion of the artisan and the fitting technology. Since 1889, the vinegar factory Andrea Milano has refined the techniques of production without ever losing sight of the great Italian wine tradition. The first beech chipboard barrels have been replaced by modern acetifying machines, but nothing of the heritage of tradition and experience, matured over the last 100 years, had been sacrificed. In the 90’s the fourth generation, led by Andrea and Francesco, represented a strong push for the growth of the company, aiming to internationalization and opening a factory in Modena at hat has now become the pride of the Company allowing the expansion of the range with the production of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. The passion for citrus fruits has always accompanied our long history since 1922, the year in which Francesco Misitano di Lorenzo and Francesco Stracuzzi di Rosario, owners of two homonymous citrus processing companies in the province of Messina, in splendid Sicily, meet for the first time. Sharing the same values and operating in the same sector, they undertake a fruitful collaboration that will lead them in 1974 to give life to Misitano & Stracuzzi Snc, a perfect synergy between experience, skills and knowledge acquired over time thanks to the initiative and personality of these two. entrepreneurs in love with their work and their land. This combination soon paid off and the company quickly gained international prominence in the sector of essential oils and citrus juices, so much so that in 1981 the corporate structure was transformed into a Spa. In 2016, Misitano & Stracuzzi USA Corp., wholly owned by the Italian parent company, was established to consolidate the brand’s presence in the American market. Our history begins in 1971 with Gino Girolomoni, young Mayor of the municipality of Isola del Piano, who starts promoting initiatives aimed at exploiting and supporting ancient farming culture. These first experiences are the founding blocks for the birth, on July 13 1977, of the Agricultural Co-op. Following the death of its founder in March 2012, the Mutual Company changes its name to Gino Girolomoni Agricultural Co-op. With its 30 shareholders and more than 70 employees and with more than 18 million euros of turnover (in 2024), the Mutual Company Gino Girolomoni has substantially contributed to develop organic farming in Italy. Our core business is the production of organic pasta, made in our cooperatively owned factory that produces exclusively certified organic goods. We grow the grain, we mill our own grain and we produce pasta with our own semolina. Prime raw materials of Italian origin, water from a spring with no industrial activities upstream and a slow and patient drying process are the key ingredients. We use 100% energy from renewable sources and 100% paper packaging, fully sustainable. Girolomoni is the only one 100% Italian Agri-food supply chain guaranteed Fair Trade (World Fair Trade Organization) and has won the EU Organic Awards as the best organic SME in 2024.
