Il primo passo di tutto quello che diverrà poi il “mondo Profiltubi” ha luogo a Reggiolo nel 1971, quando la famiglia Alfieri fonda Profiltubi S.p.a. con lo scopo di produrre tubi in acciaio al carbonio elettrosaldato. La produzione è in questa fase affidata alle tre macchine interamente progettate dalla famiglia Alfieri. I primi anni di attività sono caratterizzati da una forte e rapida espansione; dopo soli 10 anni Profiltubi rappresenta già una delle voci di rilievo nel panorama siderurgico nazionale ed europeo con 6 linee di produzione e 2 slitter. Dagli anni 80 ad oggi continua il percorso di crescita e consolidamento, durante il quale viene raddoppiata la superficie dell’area produttiva, allargata la gamma prodotti producibile e inizia la lavorazione di nuovi acciai quali zincato e decapato, grazie all’installazione di una linea ad essa interamente dedicata (2015). Nel 2020 Auctus Capital partners AG acquisisce una quota di maggioranza e avvia una collaborazione con diversi membri della storica famiglia Alfieri, i quali rimangono soci di minoranza con posizioni dirigenziali chiave, al fine di garantire continuità con il passato. L’ingresso del nuovo socio investitore sancisce l’inizio di un ambizioso progetto di crescita, sia in termini di risorse umane che di attrezzature e macchinari, il cui scopo è quello di confermare Profiltubi come uno dei più importanti produttori di tubi di acciaio al carbonio a livello europeo e mondiale. Nel Settembre 2021 Profiltubi acquisisce il 100% delle quote di O.M.V. Ventura, tubificio specializzato nella produzione di tubi di precisione che trovano applicazione principalmente nel settore automotive. L’acquisizione di O.M.V. si inquadra nell’ambizioso piano industriale che ha lo scopo di ampliare la gamma di produzione e rafforzare la presenza internazionale.

The reference market is essentially the one of large retailers in Italy and especially all over Europe. Particularly important is the introduction into the markets of gas and water tested pipes for pressure applications, as well as the large market linked to drilling and oil extraction and the pressurization of water, combustible gas and oils. Alessio Tubi occupies an area of over 370,000 square meters, of which 108,000 are covered, and it has a production of about 150,000 tons (but a capacity extendable up to 500,000 tons). The company is present in all countries of the European Community. In order to provide end user with excellent and constant quality over time, we realize an ongoing modernization of plants, in such a way that we can always have the most advanced production lines capable of being able to generate a maximum annual production capacity of 300,000. At present Marcora SpA in two production sites Inverno(MI) and Cuggiono (MI), has 10 lines with processing capacity of maximum thickness of 6 mm and maximum width 2000 mm:

Metalsider 2 S.p.A. founded in 1964 has been operating in the field of secondary zinc production for more than 50 years. Experience alongside with constant research and investments in the new technologies let Metalsider 2 become a full member of the European leadership of zinc recovery and recycling industries. Metalsider 2 is currently able to recover and recycle up to 20,000 tons of zinc skimmings per year derived from hot-dip galvanizing of steel, and 30,000 tons of new and old zinc scrap. By recovering these waste Metalsider 2 produces zinc and its alloys which is mainly sold to companies that carry out hot-dip galvanizing of steel or produce primary zinc alloys such as brass. We recycle all types of zinc waste and scrap extracting pure 98.5% zinc and produce zinc/nickel and zinc/aluminum alloys. The process is strictly controlled in all its steps to provide a qualitative end-product, to ensure operators with safe working conditions and minimize the impact on the surrounding environment.

Faces SpA (standing for Fonderia Acciai Comuni E Speciali = Common and Special Steel Foundry) was founded in 1977 by a group of businessmen. Since the early ’90s​, Faces has been specializing in the production of stainless steel and nickel-base alloys, aiming at continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. For this, wide-range investments have been allocated for enlargements and facilities optimization, state-of-the-art plants and ongoing training of personnel. Today, we are casting more than 1.500 tons per year of net weight, ranging from 20 to 8.500kg per piece. Since 2007 Faces SpA has combined the 30 years experience with the MAGMA® casting simulation software, in order to optimize, speed up and improve the engineering of casting systems. The foundry works with a 5.000-7500kg AOD converter which has enabled to reach very high-quality levels, mainly with the materials Duplex, Superduplex and Nickel-base alloys. For quality heat treatments, it works with two new ovens equipped with automatic forklift device complying with the severe Norsok standards.
