Women’s Pioneer Housing was established in 1920 by women and men who believed in gender equality and the need to redress the disadvantages women experienced in obtaining and retaining a secure home. Their aim was: "...to cater for the housing requirements of professional and other women of moderate means who require individual homes at moderate rents…." We are London’s largest specialist housing association for women, and our vision today is making a positive difference to women’s lives. Our mission is to provide homes and services which offer a springboard to independent women to achieve their potential. We aim to influence others to do the same. We own almost 1000 properties in eight boroughs in west and north-west London: Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Camden, Ealing, Wandsworth, Hillingdon, Harrow, and Westminster. A map illustrating Women’s Pioneer properties across London, divided in 3 patches, is below. 80% are studio and one-bedroom flats, mostly in converted Victorian buildings, many of which are listed or in conservation areas. There are also 90 leasehold flats, and a small but growing number of higher rental investment properties that fund our future development plans. Our sheltered housing for single women over 60 is located in Kensington & Chelsea, where we are the largest sheltered housing provider. We have 178 flats for women over 60 who wish to live independently in their own home but with added security and back-up support on site and on call. Despite changes in social attitudes and legislation, women are still disadvantaged when it comes to housing.

At American Veterinary Group (AVG), we are no strangers to growth. In 2023, we hit an exciting milestone: over 150 veterinary practices within our family of hospitals and a footprint that extends across 13 states. We continue to grow and leverage our infrastructure to empower veterinary practices and professionals by providing exceptional support for hospital operations, medical expertise, recruiting, training, marketing, finance, and human resource functions. In short, we serve to support our Family of Hospitals and we got here by caring, listening, and fostering genuine partnerships with each of our veterinary hospitals to empower their strength, expertise, and medical autonomy at the local level. Today, we get to call the 2,300 hospital employees, including over 300 veterinarians and 125 home office support staff, our colleagues, mentors, and cheerleaders. Tomorrow will bring us even more growth in talent and expertise. And the best part? There’s room for you at the table to also grow and be supported if you join our team!

Did you know that animals are affected by emotional disease... just like humans? Could psychedelic medicine offer novel solutions to animal behavioral conditions such as canine PTSD or canine separation anxiety? As you watch and participate in the emerging psychedelic ecosystems...keep your best friend's mind in mind. Increased interest in and access to psychedelic substances by human users increases the risk and frequency of exposures in animals and the veterinary industry should be prepared. Similar the increase in animal exposures that occurred as human interest and access to cannabis increased, rises in animal exposures as to psychedelic substances are anticipated. Harm reduction principles developed to safeguard animals from accidental overdoses and guide effective research in the veterinary cannabis industry are applicable to the growing psychedelic industry. Whether exposures are intentional (research or therapeutic) or accidental, veterinary medicine practitioners must be aware of the potential for and prepared to respond to these exposures in our patients. Do you know of an animal exposed to a psychedelic substance?  Complete the exposure survey, here: https://www.veterinarypsy.org/survey-exposure.
